Demonstration
Lecture From Algebra 1
With Asora's very small staff (of one) it will take many
years to develop all the courses for the K-12 sequence. We
obviously need staff members or external suppliers to help
us accomplish our goals. Even so, we have begun to develop
our first course in Algebra- one for which we have some
expertise.
VIDEO LECTURES PRESENTED IN POWERPOINT (runs OK on recent
IE browsers)
There are a number of ways to present mixed textual, audio
and visual information
that is included in our lectures. A very widely available
tool for viewing such lectures is PowerPoint.
The technology for streaming video over the Internet is now
capable of delivering video lectures on demand and at very
low cost. Based on the data transmission costs charged to
this Website, we can estimate that a year's worth of
Algebra 1 lectures will cost less than $1.00 to transmit
over the Internet. In fact, you can watch the first lecture
of Algebra 1 from this Website. Each page of the
lecture is launched by double clicking in the
graphic/picture window.
(Please be aware that only the most robust browsers will
run this correctly, including recent IE browsers.)
(If you choose to view the Algebra 1 course from this
Website, then once PowerPoint is opened up on the Web,
depending on your Internet connection's speed, you may need
to wait a few minutes or more for the video files to
download and populate your browser.)
At this time we have only generated one segment (about 10%)
of the Algebra 1 course.
As an alternative, you can also view the Algebra 1 lecture
using your own PowerPoint software. The relevant files can
be downloaded, opened and executed from our
